Alumni
King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School welcomes support from the alumni network. It may well be years since you left school, but the things you have learnt since you left and the career path you have taken are of great interest to the staff and students who are here now. HGS are keen to know what you have been up to since you have left, so please do get in touch.
Our former students are a key source of support to current students. The insights that they have gathered, from their Post-18 destination, higher education and the world of work, are extremely valuable. We are therefore keen to hear from any former students who would like to share their experiences and knowledge to the next generation of HGS Students.
We invite back alumni for various events through the year, including prizegiving and careers talks. Through this we have been able to provide mock interviews for students aspiring to go into Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science, as well as other courses such Engineering, Law and Geography. Our Alumni have also given presentations to the Sixth Form as they prepare for their University Applications, which has provided extremely useful insights into University Life and the World of Work. These talks form an integral part of our Careers and Enrichment Programme.
If you are interested in providing support to our students through talks, mock interviews, and so on, please fill out the following Microsoft Form:

It would also be lovely to welcome back our ex-students to visit the school and meet with the current teaching staff. We hope to organise some social events in the near future.
